Jacques Villon

Born Gaston Duchamp, Villon was a pioneer of Cubism and a master of the graphic arts. Brother to Marcel Duchamp and Raymond Duchamp-Villon, he adopted his pseudonym as a tribute to the poet François Villon. His work is celebrated for its refined structure, bridging classical draughtsmanship with modern abstraction through precise line and color.
