Jules Chéret was a French painter and lithographer who became a master of Belle Époque poster art. He is widely considered the "father of the modern poster." Chéret transformed the field of lithography by creating vibrant, colourful advertisements that celebrated the energy and elegance of Parisian nightlife. His iconic "Chérettes" — Joyous, elegantly dressed women — became symbols of a new era of commercial art and public visibility.
